The lobster

Posted: March 15, 2016 in Movies

Hey guys long time no see.  How have you al been? Good I hope. We are good. We went to Disneyland a few weeks ago. My first time. I don’t know how he does it but Matt made a friend while standing in line.

I am probably labeled an oddball but I’m not much of an amusement park person. So the rides were ok and the food was over priced for me. That being said I absolutely loved the trip and the paint the night parade as well as their fireworks. Amazing thing to share as a family.

Ok so enough with the mushy stuff kind of..:

So somewhat recently I found out I love satire movies. Well this just happens to be one.  Have you tried any?

A few weeks ago Matt and I were lying in bed and he asks is its ok for him to watch this movie(checking to seeing it’s one I’d want to watch with him). He tells me the premise. Basically you find love or your turned into an animal. Well it sounded weird enough to be right up my alley. So I said yeah I want to watch it.

Well, tonight Matt was wanting to watch a movie in his office and mentions this one. We start watching it and I didn’t remember anything about it. So when the woman goes up and kills the donkey first thing I’m kind of like wtf just happened here. Matt said maybe it’s her husband. Who knows?! I don’t know if they ever say why that happened.

Colin Farrell plays the lead. A guy whose wife leaves him for another man. So he is then required to go to a hotel where he is suppose to find love in 45 days.

Now I completely believe you can do this. But that is some slim pickings. Probably a total of 500 people in the hotel but narrow that down to maybe half of either gender. 250 people.

If you have seen the movie then you know none of this  babbling I have done matters. It seems the only thing that matters is if the couples find something in common than they are good to go.

I loved this movie because it felt like Facebook in a way. People form couples and the others cheer(πŸ‘πŸΌ). Meanwhile the single people sit there wondering when’s their turn(not saying everyone). Then you have the amazing joke of if you can’t fix an argument(or something along those lines) than you get a kid. Talking about those people who think maybe having a baby will fix it.

So Colin Farrell’s  time is up so he tries to hit it off with the biggest ahole there. A woman who he deems heartless. She almost ruined the movie for me that’s how heartless she was. I thought she was kidding when she said what she had done.

Colin ends up in the woods with the other loners. Who have terrible punishments for attempting to form couples.

Colin finally meets his shortsighted match. They grow close and then something terrible happens to derail it all.

However, in a very gift of the magi(esque) fashion things work out.

Watch it!!!!

Matt and I gave it 4/5.

What animal would you pick to turn into?

I think I would become a tiger.

Hey how’s it going?

Matt and I watched this a few days ago and to sum it up terrible.

Maybe we over thought it, but there was so much that didn’t make sense.

For instance how does,SPOILERS, something done in the future effect the past. Now I can understand the sending someone from the future to the past to change what happens in the present/future. But to effect it before you get there is beyond me.

So John Connors dad goes to the past on an alternate time line.

Flaws

1.) despite the dad being the only person to know of the 2 timelines Sarah Connor seems to have a freakin Ph.D. In it.

2.) Sarah mentions how he is suppose to die. Hey people did you not get the memo this is a different timeline? If your gonna play with time travel and say that you can go back and change it then shouldn’t you also realize if your on a different timeline basically anything can happen.

While watching it I made a comment to Matt. At one point in the movie John Connor more or less says he can kill his parents because he believes them to be outside the timeline. Now I could be wrong but if they are outside the timeline doesn’t that just mean they can do whatever and not effect the timeline?

So I can’t say for sure the years everything happens in the movie. However, John Connor sends his dad into the past to meet Sarah. With this new timeline that couldn’t have happened because they destroyed sky net. So unless they raised John Connor to be a bad ass and fight the non existent terminators or whatever he would have no reason to send his dad back. Thus meaning he wouldn’t have been born in the first place.

Plus Arnold’s character wouldn’t exist because skynet doesn’t exist.

Now something that really bugged Matt was that they tried to give the terminator feelings. I tried to say maybe since his goal was to protect Sarah Connor as a little girl maybe he was programmed to “care” for her. He wouldn’t have it.

Cgi is good for a game but in my opinion for a movie kind of based around technology it was lacking.

πŸ‘ŽπŸΌπŸ‘ŽπŸΌ pass.

If you have seen it what did fm you think?
