Hey Guys!

How are all of you doing?

Did you have a good weekend?

If you read Saturdays post you know that I spent my days painting the living room and hallway.

But that is not why we are here. We are here to recap this weeks episode of “Fear the Walking Dead”.

This week on Fear the Walking Dead….

This guy was almost likable until he wasn’t.

fear-the-walking-dead-episode-103-alicia-carey-1600x720 She just figured out wth is going on.

Fear-The-Walking-Dead-The-Dog-Episode-3I could see him either, becoming a badass like Rick, or will die.

AMC_FEAR_S1_OTN_103 If she falls in line behind her bf/husband she or her kids will die.

Well here we are another week down. Episode 3: The Dog.

What did you guys think of it?

What happened this week?! Well the dad/stepdad/bf/husband, his son, and ex wife were still at the barber shop. Well until some vandals set the place next door on fire.

They then travel to the new gf/wife’s house with another group who is led by a cynical man.

Meanwhile, the main woman and her 2 kids pass the time by playing monopoly.

Then they see a zombie and decide to go next door and steal their gun.

Find out the neighbor is a zombie. The other group finally makes it to the house. The guy takes charge, and they leave in the morning.

Guy neighbor almost gets eaten but the army arrives just in the nick of time.

Now lets get to what I thought.

I read this show is doing about as well as most spin off shows. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I would say probably bad, most spin offs suck.

If I am being honest this one doesn’t disappoint in that aspect.

Unsure if its because I am comparing it to the walking dead the whole time or what. I have made it a point to actively try to not compare the 2.

However, even standing on its own, it somehow seems slow. These first 3 episodes took place over 3 days, maybe a few more.

I get they were trying to show everything but lets be honest, we didn’t need family game night.

It was nice to see them finally be family(ish) but  everything in this show seems like a filler.

Although, now that I think about it, maybe things will pick up. With the army arriving maybe the real action can begin.

Because if we remember Atlanta it was overtaken by zombie/walkers. I wonder if the same will happen in L.A. I don’t have to wonder, of course it will. Otherwise they would be trying to make headway on the who zombie/walker apocalypse.

To me the problem seems to be that I don’t feel like I know these characters. I know we are gradually learning about them, but I don’t feel a connection.

For instance when we first met Rick he was alone, and thrown into the zombie apocalypse alone. Right away you 1 have something to watch and 2 you can almost imagine what it would be like. 3 then you find out he is a dad/husband.

Well as a mom/wife I can somewhat understand what it would be like to wake up and have no idea where my family is. There is a panic, and sense of urgency.

The people in FTWD don’t seem to be worried about much.

They seem more worried about the people destroying the city than they are about the people who have to be “double tapped” to be taken down.

Maybe I am weird, but if shit was hitting the fan and I wasn’t with Matt and our kids I can assure you that 1 I would be freaking out. 2. I would attempt to move heaven and earth to get to them.

Then with the ever so brief argument of if they should leave tonight or in the morning, neither one of them really seemed to care. Is no one panicking about needing to get away from the people who are doing things like eating dogs?

Well, I should go. Busy Busy day.

Have a great day guys.

What are your thoughts on the show?
