Hey guys

It feels like it has been forever since I have written on here. I know I posted a few small things but I guess it just didn’t cut it. Anyways, did you have a great Thanksgiving/black Friday? I am not one for black Friday shopping the idea of being punched in the face for a tv just doesn’t sound appealing to me. How about you, do you dare go shopping on black Friday?

Moving along I was able to go see my grandpa over the break. I am so thankful that I was able to. That was actually my Thanksgiving thankful thing this year. Is that I could make it back home to see him, before he passes. I wish I knew more about him. All I really know is that he was in WWII, he was I believe full Cherokee, had 7 kids, and from what I have witnessed one of the best guys in the world. It heartbreaking that he is dieing but to leave this world in such a terrible way, it makes it so much worse.

Anyways now that I have gloomed up the place lets get on with Movie Monday.

Matthew is still on Vacation so it will be short(ish)

Movie Monday

Before I get to talking about todays movie I wanted to ask you guys, what is your favorite holiday movie?

Matthew’s: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

My: Home Alone(Listening to one of the songs from it now πŸ™‚ )

——————————————————————————–

Lucy

Imdb: 6.5/10

Metascore: 61/100

Rotten Tomato: 66%

“A woman, accidentally caught in a dark deal, turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic.” Imdb

I attempted to get Matthew to help with this post but he said, “it was so stupid he can’t even talk about it.” lol

Aside from the talking about it part its my thoughts as well. Scarlett Johansson was good as usual. However, the story just didn’t sell me on the movie. The flashes to animals mating or whatever, bugged me early on. I suppose it was to be artistic, but in a way pulled me a way from the story more than it added to it.

They did show a drastic change in Lucy as the story went on. She went from a weak, weepy scared woman to what I can only really describe as a robot.

There was one scene, where Lucy calls her mom and starts talking about all these things that its unlikely she would have remembered before, such as the cat they had when she was 1 and drinking her moms milk and how that felt/tasted. I found disturbing and I am not sure why it was in the movie. I can only assume it was in there as a way to say hey if her mom is saying she can’t remember this stuff, then obviously she is changing.

Matthew while we were watching the movie was saying that instead of using the, we only use 10% of our brain thing they should have just gone down the road of super heroes.

Honestly I am not sure even that would have saved this.

If they wanted an awesome femme fatale story they should have contacted Joss Whedon.

2/5

Matt’s: 1.5
