Only 17 days left in the contest. Battle/ share to win 1 month of Loot Crate

Last night was our board game night with friends.

.

Two of the people had to work today so we only had time for these 3 games. Well technically the whole group only played 2. While waiting on the last couple to arrive we played Agricola. Last time we played this game, we didn’t add the cards for occupation and minor improvements. Having to keep track of I believe it was a total of 14 cards plus trying to build fences and make sure I had enough food before the harvest had me going crazy.

Matthew on the other hand is like the master of games. Not even half way through a big multitask game he is playing for the first time he will know the rules better than someone who has played it before.

If you haven’t played or heard of this game: You are a farmer. You are trying to collect food, grain, plow your fields and collect animals. Each round you only have as many moves as you have people. So until you build more rooms you only have 2. You (unless you have a special card) can not place your token/person on the same space as any other player. So your all scrambling to get what you need before the harvest. At harvest you have to feed your people and sow your food.

I hope that made sense. If not I will add a time lapse video below.

So the next game we played was Munchkin. I really like this game. At first it goes pretty easy. Your helping each other to beat the Monsters that are behind the doors and you will give each other things that will help them. However, its changes  around level 6. At this point people will start adding levels to the monsters or adding additional monsters, and unless it benefits them aren’t as likely to help you kill it. I got ahead of the pack and was 1 level away from winning the game. I don’t know if it is in the official rules, but we use the house rule that you actually have to kill a monster to get to level 10 and win. (There are cards that gives you free levels). I was  secretly Allied with Matthew until level 9. (Who was trying to get the game over with cause I guess he saw one of the people weren’t into the game.) I kick open the door and have a monster that was around my level (17),  I could have beaten it. Matthew supposedly misread his card and played “Mate”. I guess thinking it was the “doppelganger” card and made 2 of me. Instead he made 2 monsters and no one else was high enough level to help me beat it. Thus killing me and sending me back to level 1 and losing all my stuff.

Which, sucked but was fine. There were about 3 other people who had been right behind me at level 9 now all battling to win. So this other girl kicks open the door and its a level 1 plant and ………………….wins. Cause we had used our level raising cards on the higher level monsters that came before it.

Cranium is a pretty common game. You have 4 categories; “Data Head”, “Creative Cat”, “Star Performer”, “Word Worm”. In this one, you have the option of the fast track or slow track. Which thankfully, you have the option to get on the fast track after every other roll or so depending on how well you roll.

I was determined to beat the guys after they joked around saying…

The best part of this game was that the guys kept getting, I don’t remember the name for it, “Puppet Master”. Which, adds a whole new level to charades. One of the teammates is chosen to move another teammates arms, etc to get you to guess the answer. There is nothing quite like 1 grown man puppeteering another  to try and get the team to guess “March of the Penguins”.

Sadly in this case we did have “brain(s) size of squirrel”.
